CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Your brain and spinal cord are bathed in what is called “cerebral spinal fluid” or CSF. After the body creates this fluid, it gets absorbed into the blood stream. The creation and absorption of CSF happens repeatedly, creating rhythms that reverberate throughout your body much like your pulse.
A CranioSacral therapist can tune in to the rhythms of the CSF found in different areas of the body and can detect subtle changes caused by restrictions in bodily tissues. These restrictions can be caused by trauma, injuries, chemicals, or hormones. The CranioSacral therapist then guides the client’s body to release these restrictions, causing profound healing effects on physical, emotional, cellular, and even genetic levels.
Sometimes releasing these restrictions can cause a release of emotions stored in the body. The process of releasing these emotions in the safe environment of a CranioSacral session is called “Somato-emotional Release.”
This gentle hands-on therapy is wonderfully relaxing. CranioSacral Therapy supports and enhances the body’s natural healing processes. Some conditions that improve with CranioSacral Therapy include:
